Mental Repetition

They say you can make a permanent change in just 21 days of repetition. Create a new habit in 21 days, I’ve never actually made it to the 21 days, I usually forget about it by day 5. Am I alone here in this or are there others like me. I’m guessing I’m not alone. Today I pulled the card Mental repetition, I think my guides are trying to tell me something. Something like don’t give up, keep trying, time to change. You can do this! I’m guessing they read my mindfulness post and figured they would drop me a little solution to my problem. Guides are like that they drop little tid bits for you to gather and use to help you along the way. Well let’s see what this card says: Mental repetition can improve your attitude and help you feel your best. “Probably could” This card suggests you are holding on to limited beliefs “probably true as well” It is time to embrace a healthier philosophy about your life. Holding yourself to IMPOSSIBLY high expectations, “let that sear into your brain” fearing failure or asserting an inability to control your emotions are examples of limiting beliefs. You may have latched on to some unhealthy beliefs or thought patterns. Well I would say that is all pretty accurate for all of us isn’t it? Just like physical training, mental healing takes repetition and practice. By repeating positive and uplifting thoughts, you can shift away from limiting and unhealthy beliefs. As you further your mental wellbeing, you become more focused, confident, composed and prepared for the unexpected, “hmm might be a stretch” Alright so how do we go about doing this. It says this is an ideal time to create a shift. “Please don’t say I have to do it for 21 days” Compose a powerful statement that you can repeat whenever necessary. Make sure your affirmation is easy for you to remember “I love affirmations I can do that” If you are working on eating better, you might choose a phrase like. I feel great when I eat healthy foods. Create a phrase that will best help you replace an outdated belief with something life changing and positive. This is the perfect time for you to do so. Ok I do love affirmations, I can do this, To me the 21 days seems like an outdated belief system, I think when we put solid rules attached to anything it only unnecessarily adds a layer of challenge to it. So affirmations for me are a great way to create change. “I am focused and efficient” That will be my first affirmation to get me moving this year. And the great thing about affirmations is you can have as many as you need. Thankyou for the reminder spirit team I needed it but you already knew that.

Much love, hope this helps someone else who turns up their nose to 21 days of change.
